This is a beautiful dining set comprising an antique William IV flame mahogany mahogany dining table and a beautiful set of ten William IV barback dining chairs, all Circa 1830 in date. The beautifully figured flame mahogany table has four leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion. The leaves can be easily removed and stored away when not required. The table is raised on five hand carved turned and fluted tapering legs that terminate in brass cup castors. The fantastic antique English made set of ten William IV mahogany barback dining chairs are also circa 1830 in date. The set comprising eight singles and two armchairs, with plain crest rails and splats the drop in seats upholstered in wine and cream cloth, on turned and reeded front legs. Whatever the function of this gorgeous dining suite, it will make a profound impression on your dinner guests and will receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed. THE BOTANICAL NAME FOR THE MAHOGANY THAT THIS DINING SET IS MADE OF IS SWIETENIA MACROPHYLLA AND THIS TYPE OF MAHOGANY IS NOT SUBJECT TO CITES REGULATION. Condition: In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation. Matching his words to his work, Sheraton designed much mahogany furniture. The qualities that impressed Sheraton are particularly evident in a distinctive pattern of wood called "flame mahogany." The flame figure in the wood is revealed by slicing through the face of the branch at the point where it joins another element of the tree. Our reference: A2543a.
