Magnificent vintage Scandinavian Modern Gudme Mobelfabrik of Denmark teak expanding dining or conference table with 2 leaves. This piece has been attributed based upon archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials however, it is not signed or marked in any way. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the top has been refinished. There were a couple spots where the veneer was sanded through right on the edge where the 2 halves come together. They have been filled and colored. There are also a couple scratches that were so deep they can still be seen but not felt. It was given a topcoat of polyurethane. This is a wonderful vintage Scandinavian Modern expanding dining table by Danish manufacturer Gudme Mobelfabrik in Denmark. It is beautifully comprised of a GORGEOUS teak frame and stands proud upon an incredible “boomerang” style pedestal base with solid teak legs and a bullnose edge. Let’s talk about the versatility of this Scandinavian Modern beauty! It comes with 2 leaves and adjusts from a smaller round shaped top to a larger rounded rectangular shaped tabletop AND as you add a leaf, the legs pull out incrementally with the leaves. You can add one leaf, or both depending on how much room you need. Talk about turning dinnertime into a spectacular, spacious dining experience!! It’s perfect for a growing family, someone who loves to entertain, or take it to the office as it is spacious enough to be used as an office or conference table. This Gudme Mobelfabrik table is often attributed to Niels O. Moller as the designer; however, I have not found any solid information that can prove or disprove this attribution. It is marked on the underside with the Gudme Mobelfabrik name, and their name is synonymous with high quality Danish Modern furnishings, so of that we can be sure. Gorgeous modern oak veneer large trestle style dining or conference table with bullnose edge top and slab style legs. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. We have noticed a few minor nicks and dings on the top and along the edges. The top also has an overall raised grain texture. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. This is a TITANIC of a table!!! Lol… It’s super large!! It is comprised of gorgeous oak veneer with solid oak applied to both ends… kind of a modified trestle style dining table with slab legs, and beautiful bullnose edge on said top and legs. The added solid oak ends are separated from the veneered top by a narrow-blackened groove which sets this detail off nicely. It is absolutely stunning!! It is a colossal 96 inches long and seats eight comfortably, but you may fit ten if the chairs are a bit narrower or you straddle the legs. The legs are recessed 6.5 inches, so straddling is not a large obstacle. In addition, although the natural oak is beautiful, we can also see this being ebonized with a little black dye. Incredible!!! It will be fabulous in your dining room or as a lovely conference table at the office! It is modern in style, but it will host oodles of options of dining or office chairs! We have LOTS of chairs...
