About the Item
Quintessential 19th century country French provincial style farmhouse table made on a grand scale measuring nearly 10 feet long. Hand-crafted from oak the table features a thick plank top with a beautifully weathered patina on the oak finish. The side apron is fitted with a small storage drawer on one side. The table is supported by elegant square legs that taper towards the end. The table has a classic European farmhouse profile made with a rare modern dining height of 30.5 inches high having ample leg room measuring over 24 inches from the floor to the apron. The table is very sturdy and solid construction with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Crafted with mostly wood peg construction the table has clean, functional lines with a minimalist design in the farmhouse aesthetic. Substantial 19th century country French provincial farmhouse dining table hand-crafted from solid oak. The table features a monumental 2 inch thick top with breadboard ends. The top is supported by a trestle base having thick, chunky turned legs conjoined by H-shaped stretchers and ending with bun feet. Constructed with mostly wood peg joinery each end has a 10" inch overhang for diners and ample leg room measuring 23.5 inches from the floor to the apron. The rare large size is made in a monastery or refectory style. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The table top showcases the distinctive woodgrains and has a desirable aged patina on the oak with age cracks and gaps to commensurate its age and use.
