19th Century French Neoclassical Louis XVI Style Walnut Folding Dining Table

About the Item

A charming mid-19th century French extendable folding dining table in the Neoclassical Louis XVI style, sourced from Provence, France. Expertly hand-crafted from solid walnut, the table boasts a naturally aged dark patina, highlighting the wood’s rich grain. Its rectangular folding top, complete with the original metal hinges, pivots smoothly around a wooden dowel, allowing it to extend to a generous 7’4” in length. Beneath the tabletop, a discreet storage compartment adds practicality. The apron clearance measures 23.75 inches from the floor to the bottom of the apron. Supported by hand-carved, tapered, fluted legs, the table exemplifies solid and stable joinery, blending traditional French craftsmanship with a Transitional Louis XVI profile. - Origin: Provence, France - Dimensions: W 48.25"/89" x D 44.25" x H 30.75"/29.75"- apron clearance 23.75" - Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use.
