UMBO (Lililopinda) is a collection inspired by a deep appreciation for curved forms in African art. Its name, drawn from Swahili, marks a first-time tribute to the linguistic heritage of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Handcrafted in Belgian ateliers, UMBO features burned and waxed Iroko wood and steel—materials chosen for their strength and spiritual significance. Iroko, known locally in Benin as "the king of the forest," holds deep cultural meaning in the Fon tradition.
