Angelo Mangiarotti dining table 302 Bernini Italy 1959

About the Item

Astonishing Model 302 dining table designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and made by Bernini in Milan, Italy  in 1959. This specific table is the biggest version of the Model 302, with a large 150cm Carrara marble top and a very strong trumpet-shaped base for stability. In our opinion it's the best-looking version of this classic table due to its proportions. The Carrara marble top is beautiful, with a great pattern. It’s in good original condition, even though it's been around for over 60 years. The base is made of solid bronze, which not only looks great with the marble but also makes sure the table is stable to held the marble top. The base was created by the Battaglia foundry in Milan. This dining table can easily fit six chairs. Angelo Mangiarotti, born in Milan on February 26, 1921, was an accomplished architect and designer. He graduated in Architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1948 and later spent time in the United States, where he had the privilege of meeting influential figures like Frank Lloyd Wright, Walter Gropius, Mies van der Rohe, and Konrad Wachsmann. Upon returning to Italy, he co-founded an architectural firm with Bruno Morassutti until 1960. In 1989, he established the Mangiarotti & Associates Office in Tokyo. His contributions also extended to the world of design, as he served as the Art Director of Colle Cristalleria from 1986 to 1992. Mangiarotti's expertise wasn't limited to practice alone. He was a dedicated educator, sharing his knowledge at various universities in Italy and around the world. His design philosophy, outlined in his book "In nome dell’architettura" published in 1987, emphasized the importance of creating objects with essential characteristics, making them user-friendly and recognizable. His exceptional work earned him numerous awards in both design and architecture, including the prestigious Compasso d’oro ADI for his carrier in 1994. Angelo Mangiarotti's legacy lives on, and he is remembered for his profound influence on the fields of architecture and design. He passed away in Milan on June 30, 2012.

  • Edoardo Landi Dining Table Studio D, Italy, 1973
    By Edoardo Landi
    Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Architectural dining table model T30 designed by Edoardo Landi and manufactured by Studio D, Italy 1973. This table is designed by Architect Landi in 1973, and was produced in a very small series by StudioD, together with some chairs, cabinets and tables. This table is made of solid pine wood and is stained in black, it has a glass top in the center which gives the table a nice transparent look. This table is a typical architects design, its clearly visible in the way its constructed and shaped. The table is differenly nice from every angle and is very nice in use as well. The middle part is open and can be used to store items, books, or paper work and it will be only visible from the top and sides. The table can be fully dis assembled for safe shipping. This is one of the most stunning tables I have seen recently and reminds a lot of the later designs by Jose Zanine Caldas as well. Documentation is available but not included in the sale. The table can use up to 8 chairs and the chairs on the picture are not included in this listing. Edoardo Landi studied architecture at the Scuola Superiore di Disegno Industriale, Venice. 1959–1964 founding member of Gruppo N...
