About the Item

Angelo Mangiarotti’s (1921 – 2012) work as an architect and industrial designer was led by a belief that carefully respecting a material’s characteristics was imperative to developing a form. The Longobardo dining table is formed of a round glass table top balancing on top of metal base which appears to be in a state of bloom. Mangiarotti respected his own design manifesto to create a quite harmony between the elements. Base has a lovely textured patinated finish. Glass has a few surface scratches can be replaced upon request.

Grace Prince Held Absence No.4 Side table - UK, 2025 - AP 1, Edition of 30
Located in London, GB
Hand-poured glass, polished stainless steel, metal and rubber. A pool of swirled hand-poured glass sits atop a dynamic, architectonic frame. Made by pouring molten glass directly from the kiln onto a metal plate, the cooler temperature triggers a rippling texture. The piece is part of Held Absence, Grace Prince’s largest furniture collection to date addressing a long-held fascination with absence and fragility. The pieces develop the designer’s free, gestural approach into six assemblages in bronze, steel and wood. Designed exclusively for Béton Brut, the works emerged from a period spent living in a traditional house just north of Kyoto. The collection is handmade to order in 12 weeks. Grace Prince (born in London, 1992) is a multidisciplinary designer based between Zürich, Milan and London. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, she worked as the assistant designer to Vincenzo De Cotiis...
