Antique Federal Oval Dining Table

About the Item

An exquisite antique mahogany Federal oval dining table. Federal-style—also known as Adam-style in Britain and Louis XVI style in France—flourished in the newly formed United States from approximately 1785 to 1820. Inspired by classical architecture and design, it emphasizes symmetry, balance, and delicate ornamentation. The table’s oval shape, while gracefully curved, maintains a sense of structured elegance. It features inlaid banding along the tabletop’s edge and delicate inlays along the apron, hallmarks of Federal craftsmanship. The tapered legs with wooden & brass casters contribute to its refined silhouette, blending function with timeless beauty. Designed for both intimate and grand gatherings, this table includes one extension leaf and two removable legs for added support when needed. Imagine the conversations and celebrations that have unfolded around its surface over the centuries. A true heirloom, this piece is ready to bring a sense of history and enduring style into your home. The table is 67.25" long without the leaf & 82.25" long with the leaf inserted.
