About the Item
A fine quality antique Georgian Regency period tilt-top inlaid, parcel gilt, walnut and amboyna breakfast, dining table, circa 1820.
The circular tilt-top made from figured walnut and inlaid with satinwood stringing and a band of amboyna wood inlay, the table top locks onto the pedestal with a brass handle to the underside, the table is level, robust and stable. The table is raised on a pedestal with parcel gilt ribbed design and stands on a trefoil base with parcel gilt circular feet with carved rosettes and fan carving, with the original brass castors below. Very good antique condition, this elegant antique table is ready to grace your home.

The table is made from the finest flame mahogany & having two drop leaves with curved skirts that are supported by butterfly bracket supports, the table having a deeply carved turned baluster shaped pedestal with four curved legs. Both the pedestal & legs are deeply carved with acanthus leaf decoration, each leg terminates to a substantial lion's paw foot and each is raised on the original brass castor.
This is a period table from the first quarter of the 1800s not a later revival piece from the late 1800s. Some Empire furniture can be heavy & bulky, this table is very elegant and displays the skill of the early 19th century...
