Bespoke Solid Aged French Oak Castle Dining Table With Matte Finish
About the Item
Presenting our Castle Table, inspired by the furniture gracing the halls of ancient castles and monasteries, where gatherings for meals and drinks were a tradition. Crafted by our highly skilled master craftsmen in the most artisanal manner, these tables are custom-made, using the finest aged European oak available. The wood undergoes a high-temperature baking process by our experts, a delicate aging technique resulting in wood comparable to centuries-old oak in both color and texture. Unlike artificially dried new oak, our oak boasts a natural warm hue that resists yellowing over time.
The tabletop is fashioned from wide planks of solid oak, approximately 1.6 inches thick, exhibiting an average rustic appearance with numerous small cracks and knots, imparting a charmingly rustic character. Supported by a base featuring two intricately carved legs inspired by antique tables, connected by a removable framework. With no lower framework obstructing the underside of the top, all armchairs can be fully tucked in, maximizing legroom.
The table is impeccably finished with an ultra-matte lacquer, offering exceptional protection against rings and stains. This lacquer ensures effortless maintenance, allowing daily cleaning with a damp cloth and light household cleaning agents.
All our tables are meticulously crafted and finished in our own workshop. Each table is custom-made based on a pre-agreed 3D design, allowing us to cater entirely to your preferences. We take pride in tailoring a unique table that fulfills all your desires and specifications. Rombouts Bespoke Oak Furniture
Rombouts Furniture Workshop is a third-generation family business specializing in working with solid French oak wood. On one hand, we are renowned antique restorers, complemented by a dedicated team of master carpenters. Our material of choice is typically solid French oak wood. French oak is known for its calm and straight growth in centuries-old production forests within a mild climate. We collaborate with local sawmills to have the wood cut to our specifications. The majority of the wood is kiln-dried by us at high temperatures. This is a delicate aging process resulting in a natural color of oak wood, akin to wood that's centuries old. By utilizing the entire tree, we are able to create furniture ranging from flawless oak to highly rustic wood. All of our operations are conducted in our own workshop, equipped with the finest woodworking machinery used by the highly experienced craftsmen.
Our tables, meticulously crafted from solid aged oak, boast a medium rustic appearance and are tailor-made based on 3D drawings provided by us. With customizable dimensions up to 200 inches, we use QS2 oak, featuring a rustic look with small cracks and knots as seen in photos. The finishing involves wood sanding or brushing, complemented by a durable very matte natural or matte grey wash finish. Additional customization is available for an extra cost.
