Available now, this very Brazilian Modern Eextendable table in hardwood with Ebony finish, designed by Novo Rumo, in the sixties in Brazil is simply spectacular! The table features a hardwood structure with two legs with an oval top with beveled edge that fits four comfortably. When extended the table gets an extra 12 inches that can fit 2 more.The matching chair set, also Novo Rumo is showcased in the last image. This Brazilian Modern gem has all the fun aspects of a true bold Brazilian Modern piece: a robust wood structure with straight angles. A table like will look awesome with its matching chairs but also flexes into any Mid-Century Modern, Modern or Contemporary, Transitional, or even Hollywood Regency environment. Attached are some vintage and contemporary publications featuring the same chair. About Novo Rumo…Francesco Scapinelli, architect, and ceramist, after working for years with his oldest brother, the established designer, Giuseppe Scapinelli, founded Studio Novo Rumo, in São Paulo. Studio Novo Rumo produced furniture at an Industrial scale with excellent quality and materials such as Jacaranda of Bahia, used in many of his best pieces. Sometimes Novo Rumo pieces can be mistaken for L’Ateliers. This is because several L’Atelier employees left L’Atelier to work with Scapinelli at the newly founded Novo Rumo. Novo Rumo pieces have sharply increased in popularity in recent years-- being currently styled by many top interior designers around the globe. Available today, this Brazilian Modern Mid-Century Modern dining table entirely made in Hardwood by Sergio Rodrigues, 1960s is not only extremely rare but spectacular! The name of this model is “Alex” and is made entirely in Brazilian Rosewood & Rosewood veneer featuring a wood structure with “X” shape and a tabletop also in rosewood. The table has been refinished and the tabletop has been beautifully foliated with old rosewood veneer too. Available today, this midcentury modern Round Dining Table in Hardwood & Granite designed by Jorge Zalszupin, in the sixties is exquisite. The table consists of a granite top and “X” shape base made of steel and Brazilian Rosewood, as known as Jacaranda. The refinished Jacaranda has smooth yellow veins, and the granite has a purple tone with white veins giving an organic look. Besides some marks of age, the table is in excellent condition.The manufacture seal is underneath the granite top. Equally as practical as beautiful, these table will look great with a modern or mid-modern chairs but will also look incredible into a Contemporary, Minimalistic, or even Eclectic environment. The table fits 6-7 people comfortably. In regards the creator, Jorge Zalszupin (1 June 1922 – 17 August 2020) was a Polish-born Brazilian architect and designer, who founded L’Atelier, in São Paulo. He began in the 1950’s decade with craftwork and soon after, to the production in series. Jorge Zalszupin a native of Warsaw, Poland, studied architecture at Bucharest’s Ecole des Beaux Arts. While working as an architect in Paris, he found inspiration in articles about Brazilians Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx and immigrated to Brazil. His work as an architect created a demand for decoration and furniture proposals that suited the style of his projects and, for many years, Zalszupin designed and executed them for his clients. The demand was as great as the desire to grow and expand his business, and he then decided to found Atelier Móveis in November 1959. A significant part of Zalszupin's furniture production is tributary to his architecture. He used new design language and tendencies, while maintaining a functional view of ambience for internal spaces. L’Atelier was a design collective of architects, engineers, craftsmen, and a full-scale team of professionals that did everything from researching materials to finalizing the product. Jorge Zalszupin has developed some of the most iconic models in Brazilian Modern furniture and has grown a lot in popularity in the last few years.
