About the Item
We were able to procure a first-of-its-kind, extremely rare, extraordinarily large, Single Curly African Bubinga Slab. We have been fortunate to own this Bubinga wood slab in our warehouse for several years. However, after the exportation of Bubinga wood was banned in 2018 to allow the species to reestablish itself, it has become almost impossible to find this type of wood anymore. As far as we know, this is the world's largest and most intricate Bubinga wood slab.
Slabs of this rare quality are no longer available at any price. The width is rare for any live-edge single slab, especially in ultra-rare exotic species. The natural edge has sculptural detail that is as exciting as the glowing top. The live-edge width fluctuates from its narrowest at 49.5" to its widest at 52.5".
The solid Mahogany Kairo base is featured here for the first time with this phenomenal slab top. Paramount Wood Co. founder Colin Thompson created this base design specifically for this slab. Its substantial size and weight create an incredibly stable table surface without compromising legroom.
We finished the slab to a glass-like polish, followed by a durable monocoat finish and three layers of Diamond Ceramic Coating. This makes the surface water-resistant, stain-resistant, and scratch-resistant, all while retaining a remarkably natural satin finish & true wood feel. The finish on this table alone is valued at $5,044. This piece is truly, and will always be, one-of-one. Assembly of this table is simple, with the base disassembling into up to 10 easy-to-manage pieces and connecting together using a Torx head screwdriver & Allen key (included).
