About the Item

A gorgeous 'Chelsea' extendable dining table by Italian architect Vittorio Introini for Saporiti in the 1960s. This dining table is composed of beautifully grained solid rosewood in a rich, dark brown hue and features a pyramid-form pedestal base. The table’s square top extends to accommodate additional seating, with two drop-leaf surfaces that fold out horizontally, seamlessly joined by brass hinges and chrome support beams. Unmarked. Sourced in Italy, 1960s. Vittorio Introini, an esteemed Italian architect, designer, and artist, embarked on his design career in the 1960s. His contributions to postwar and contemporary art have been showcased at prestigious venues such as the KANAL exhibition at the Pompidou Center in Paris. His work is distinguished by its innovative spirit and transformative impact, a reflection of his rich cultural background and extensive architectural influences. Introini's creative language seamlessly blends individual creativity, subjective compositional systems, and an advanced understanding of new materials.
