Claro Walnut and Granite Dining Table with Modern Base
About the Item
Drake Woodworking's "Hayden Dining Table" is a statement in design and craft. Hand-made from five distinct Claro Walnut slabs, the table's top is a patchwork of incredibly figured wood and is mated to two slabs of black granite. The design and material choice of the top is reminiscent of the "yin and yang" principle: the materials, though completely distinct, complement each other to create an incredible work of art. Perhaps the most impressive feature of the design is that of the table's base. The base is comprised of six laminated curves which and expertly joined to create a star-shaped form. The structure is strong yet visually light and creates a comprehensive finished piece which is inspiring from all angles and perspectives.
