About the Item

Crafted in France circa 1820, this stately dining table is a superb example of early 19th-century Renaissance revival craftsmanship. The rectangular plank top, hand-fashioned from solid oak, displays a warm walnut-brown patina and is framed with a carved petal-motif apron, adding subtle decorative interest. The table rests on a striking base featuring six turned columnar supports, flanked by robust fluted baluster legs set on broad shoe bases carved with bold acanthus leaf and scroll motifs. A shaped cross-stretcher with flowing carved detail unites the legs, providing strength and visual harmony while enhancing the sculptural presence of the piece. Generous in size and elegant in design, this antique table easily seats eight to ten guests, making it an excellent choice for a breakfast or dining room, a library writing desk, or a wine cellar centerpiece. Its rich patina and finely carved ornamentation bring a touch of timeless sophistication to any setting. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Dimensions: 80.5″ L x 31.5″ W x 30.25″ H
