A French late 17th century Renaissance st. Walnut dining table

About the Item

An extremely handsome and finely detailed French late 17th century Renaissance st. Walnut dining table. This beautiful table with its original extensions has a richly carved central frame containing four mottled columns serving as supports along with scrolling feet below. The central 'H' shaped frame is exquisitely decorated by finely carved 'S' scrolled winged sphinxes on each corner and elaborate scrolling foliate carvings throughout the entire frame. The wonderfully finished Walnut top showcases its extensions which pull out from and conceal under the smaller central section.
