About the Item

A George II period, mahogany gate-leg, drop-leaf occasional / dining table, dating from the mid 18th century. Featuring a solid mahogany top of round-ish form. Constructed from 3 leaves of early mahogany. The end leaves are supported by single gatelegs. Small well figured frieze to either end, raised on turned tapering legs on off-set pad feet. As well as a small dining table, this is also ideal as an occasional or side table. A charming early table, full of character. Cleaned, waxed and now ready for use. Dimensions: This table measures approximately 72 cm (28.375") tall, 90.5 cm (35.625") wide leaves up, and 29.5 cm (11.625") wide leaves down, 91 cm (35.75") deep. Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in a reasonably good condition, commensurate with its age. Marks and blemishes in keeping with use. Several old repairs, including the rule joint edges of the leaves, tops of the legs and one foot. A little slack in the original wooden gateleg hinges. This has been through the workshop and has been cleaned, waxed and is now ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
