About the Item

A George II period, Cuban mahogany small drop-leaf dining table, circa 1740. Featuring a solid, high quality, very well figured, mahogany top of square-ish form. Constructed from 3 leaves of early, heavy mahogany. The end leaves are supported by single gatelegs. Plain frieze, raised on turned tapering legs on off-set pad feet. As well as a small dining table, this is also ideal as an occasional or side table. An excellent early table, in very good original condition. Sensitively cleaned, waxed and now very much ready for use. Dimensions: This table measures approximately 70.5 cm (27.75") tall, 102.5 cm (40.375") wide leaves up, and 36 cm (14.25") wide leaves down, 91.25 cm (36") deep. Condition: Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in very good original condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Original and unmolested. Never French polished. Only marks and blemishes in keeping with use, including a few old scratches, now all well wax polished over. Lovely aged colour. Attractive aged patina throughout. Lovely original surface, never been refinished. This has been through the workshop and sensitively cleaned, waxed and is now ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
