About the Item

A splendid Georgian oak tripod ‘supper’ dining table in lovely antique condition. Likely made around 1780, this gorgeous, versatile and highly useable George III table is dripping with rustic charm, aged appeal and will add a quintessential antique-English aesthetic to any interior. Made of quality oak wood displaying lovely grain patterning and richly hued, beautifully aged colouring, this super table features a circular quarter-sawn top supported by a beautiful and exquisitely turned pedestal over an elegantly carved and very shapely tripod base. A great, versatile size, this gorgeous table makes a lovely ‘supper’ or small dining table and would also work wonderfully as an occasional, side or centre table. All in all, this is an exceedingly charming Georgian oak tripod table, which won’t fail to enhance any setting with traditional quality and a distinguished antique rustic look. CONDITION This is in very good antique condition. Structurally sound and built to last, it has lovely signs of ageing, including some marks to the top, which really only enhance its antique appeal, and historic hard-to-notice splits to the pedestal base. It was likely originally a tilt-top and looks to have undergone an expert’s historic modification using quality oak, likely around early 20th Century, making it a static top table and much more sturdy and stable than it would otherwise be. Overall it’s a fabulous and versatile Georgian oak tripod table in very good condition and if well looked after it should be just as impressive for decades if not centuries to come – please see the photos. MEASUREMENTS Height – 70.5cm, Width – 86cm, Depth – 86cm, Leg Room – 68.5cm, Weight – 14kg.
