HUGE 12 PERSON ANTiQUE REGENCY 1810 IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS HOPE DINING TABLE

About the Item

Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this absolutely exquisite extra large, Flamed Mahogany with Macassar ebony boarder dining table in the manner of Thomas Home with ornately carved Lion's hairy paw legs that can seat up to 12 people circa 1810-1820 Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price A truly sublime table, the only one of its type I have ever seen, it is very large, if each leg spacing hole housed one chair you would seat six people however there would be vast spaces between, I would suggest you could seat upto ten people comfortably and twelve at a squeeze. The legs are attached in lots of three with a top mounted frame, this frame can be easily unscrewed using the period solid brass screws, this removes all the legs for ease of transport and installation The table top is flamed mahogany with a macassar ebony boarder which looks exquisite in the right light, the legs are thick solid hand carved mahogany in the taste of Thomas Hope as mentioned, for any fine furniture connoisseur this piece is a must have Condition wise, the table has been fully restored, my French polisher has lightly washed it back and traditionally and more importantly, sympathetically, French polished it from the ground up, the idea behind this kind of restoration is to leave all the original patination, but make it clean and ready for the new owners. As such there will be small patina marks here and there as you can see in the pictures Dimensions Height:- 74cm Width:- 198cm Depth:- 198cm Knee height:- 67cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
