About the Item

This isn’t just a table it’s a monument to time, texture, and taste. A relic from the 1940s with the grit to prove it, this industrial-modern table is anything but ordinary. The iron base is thick, raw, and gloriously oxidized with a patina that only decades of honest labor and oxygen can create. The walnut top is worn in all the right places, weathered like a Hemingway novel left out in the Cuban sun. Was it once a cigar-rolling table in Havana? Maybe. We can’t prove it, but pour yourself a rum and tell us it doesn’t feel true. (The table was rumored to have once served as a cigar-rolling table. While we can’t confirm that tale with certainty, one look at the surface and it’s easy to imagine the hum of fans overhead, the scent of tobacco in the air, and the skilled hands of artisans rolling history into every leaf. Whether that origin is fact or lore, it undeniably feels like the truth.) We pulled this beast from the home of a Hollywood power couple (think art collectors meets hillside glamour). Getting it out of their modernist perch required a literal team and some light mountaineering. Think 8 men and a pulley system lowering hundreds of feet off a balcony. Yes we have vids to prove it! At 104” long and nearly 50” deep, it’s as versatile as it is cinematic perfect as a dining table in an industrial loft, a writing table in a creative’s den, or a killer display in a fashion showroom (Todd Snyder, Rick Owens, are you listening?). This is not a table that matches your flatware. This is a table that matches your storytelling.

Postmodern Industrial Dining Table Designed by Robert Josten
By Robert Josten
Located in Culver City, CA
This dining table is equal parts post modern and industrial modern and just oozes California modernism. This dining table or writing desk was designed by Robert Josten in the 1970's. Made of aluminum, this metal grille / grid style is a staple of Robert Josten's work. This dining table is a great transitional piece that could easily flex into any contemporary environment. The table has an almost Allsaints, industrial modern feel with a slight steampunk vibe as well. The table could also be used in an ultra modern environment and would look great in a new modern designed home. This piece could also be used as a retail display table...

Brutalist Cast Metal Geometric Dining Table in the Manner of Paul Evans
By Paul Evans
Located in Culver City, CA
This table is absolutely gorgeous. It's a cast metal body with what a cold cast bronze outer shell. This one of a kind, custom piece came out of an estate in the Pacific Palisades filled with the most incredible furniture by Paul Evans, Daniel Gluck and Italian designer pieces. Unfortunately we have been unable to identify the creator of this piece, but it is very much in the style of Paul Evans and his cold cast bronze line for Directional. The table base measures 56" L x 24" D x 28.25" T. The glass on the table base is also custom, 3/4" thick with docked corners for a very unique look when up close and personal. This table is remarkably sturdy, and very heavy. This unique table would also look incredible as a writing desk. This incredible table is currently in the gallery paired with like designer pieces by Paul Evans, and Silas Seandel, but would also look wonderful paired with more contemporary pieces like Milo Baughman thin line chairs...
