About the Item
Unique white Carrara table with Honey Onyx marquetries as placeholders for the objects to be put on. Honey Onyx is also present on the inner side of the foot. The table is the result of the collaboration between the artistic directors of SUNNEI and Bloc Studios, an Italian marble leading company.
For the 2022 Design Week, SUNNEI meets Bloc Studios' material-driven approach in a collaborative collection transforming all the objects typically found in a dining room into one-of-a-kind marble pieces. The outcome is a special tableware series composed of three different-sized plates, a bowl, reversible glasses, wine coolers and a pitcher. Cylindrical stools and a rectangular table are decorated by yellow marble inlays directing the position of the aforementioned objects. The brutalist shapes of the range get softened by the use of colorful veined marble conferring a playful touch both labels are known for to these pieces. The result of the teamwork between two labels with a mutual culture of Made-In-Italy excellence and experimental projects, this limited edition capsule is an ode to the timeless beauty and meaningful design.
As commented by Bloc Studios' founder Sara Ferron Cima: ''What really makes me happy about this collaboration is that it comes from our long-time friendship and our mutual esteem. The connection with Loris and Simone led us to think about the possibility of doing something together more than once and this project is the outcome of a two-year gestation. During such an extended time frame, the idea evolved repeatedly but these many steps were necessary to reach a perfect synthesis of what we wanted to represent from the beginning. Everything started from our desire to interpret conviviality through the pieces that are needed at dinner.

Based on the emerging vision of marble that involves re-thinking functional design out of industrial excess, Bloc studios is built on the ideas of international collaborations and in-house designed pieces.
