Italian Art Deco Dining Table in Walnut with Sculptural Base
About the Item
Dining table, walnut, Italy, 1940s.
This Italian dining table has a rectangular top with rounded corners and a detailed cross-section. The top is framed which highlights the veneered top. Remarkable about this table are the legs. Four legs lift the tabletop up whereas diagonal rods connect to the shorter leg in the middle. Not only are the legs slightly tapered but also decorated with multiple rings adding a relief-like structure to the design. With regard to its essential form and material use, this table is a testimony to post-Art Deco Italian decorative creations.
