DINING TABLE BY CARLO DE CARLI
An extremely rare Macassar ebony extending table by Italian designer Carlo de Carli, extending top to accommodate a single butterfly leaf that stores inside the top, this sits on a hexagonal trumpet base with brass banded centre. The Italian-born Carlo de Carli is widely acclaimed for his work in furniture design. His midcentury Italian dining table remains a beloved classic to this day.
Designed in the 1950's, the piece is renowned for its minimalistic yet sophisticated aesthetic, combining form and function with classic Italian craftsmanship. The table has a timeless look that fits perfectly within contemporary décor. De Carli’s signature style is evident in the design as he successfully combined classic materials such as Macassar Ebony and brass with modern shapes.
