Minimalist Laurel Fyfe Glass Handkerchief Shaped Base Dining Table Amorphic Top

Visual artist, Laurel Fyfe (1956-2011), created the Aurora Glass Dining Table, a monumental and rare 3/4″ thick sapphire glass fazzoletto or handkerchief shape base supporting (rubber cushions in between) a large amorphous glass top. Produced in the early 1990s and manufactured by Fox Fire Glass in Pontiac, Michigan. Beautiful turquoise glass edges from the sapphire glass. Condition: Top – fine scratches + one longer scratch, not distracting – Base -a small glass loss in two of its supporting points, partially cover by clear rubber cushions. Please look at all images.
Fyfe was the owner and president of Fox Fire Glass where she created her incredible and monumental sculptures melting 11 ft. x 7 ft. sheets of glass, weighting 350 lbs., shaping them into desired creations. Some of her sculptures adorn the McNamara Terminal at Detroit International Airport, Waterman Center in Pontiac and many other public and private buildings. Detroit automakers worked with Fox Fire in the manufacturing of glass sections for their concept cars.
Measurements: GLASS TOP (approx.) 68 inches x 70 inches x 3/4 inch thick. BASE (approx.) 38 inches diameter x 32 inches between supports – OVERALL HEIGHT 29 inches .
