Modern Bronze and Bastogne Walnut Oval Dining Table with Curved Shiplapped Base
About the Item
Handcrafted in Northern California, the Pangaea table by Taylor Donsker features two cast bronze edges seamlessly integrated into the top of a slab of highly figured Bastogne Walnut, resting upon a steam bent and curved solid Walnut shiplapped base. The bronze features an array of casting imperfections that add depth and liken the bronze to the natural imperfections in the wood slab. The result is a seamless blend of materials, bronze and Bastogne Walnut, in such a way that the tree appears to have grown around the cast metal. Three sets of solid Walnut structural members connect the two halves of the base, subtly displaying a well crafted pinned bridle joint construction. All wooden elements in the table are finished with Taylor's signature, velvety smooth hand rubbed oil and wax finish and handcrafted in Northern California.
This piece is made to order and can be customized in dimension, species, and finish.
