Monumental French Art Deco Rosewood Gondola Dining Table, Ruhlmann Style

A stunning vintage French Art Deco table in striking palisander / rosewood. Fine Parisian craftsmanship, refined elegant sophistication, luxury, and exotic woods, with its sleek stylized geometric form, clean lines and luxurious polished finish, the French Art Deco Modern movement took the world by storm in the early 20th century. Exquisitely hand-crafted in France, circa 1930s, after iconic designer Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, with a similar later version by Karl Springer, this monumental size table features a large rectangular top with warm, rich and exotic highly figured book-matched rosewood, thick, solid edging, and distinctive rounded clipped corners, rising on gondola base with substantial curved supports, circular center, atop shaped platform foot. Stamped O underfoot. As warm and attractive as it is functional, having the ideal large size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a dining table, centre table, conference table, or placed in a palatial foyer as a stunning entry statement piece! Dimensions: (approx) 30.5" High, 86.5" Wide, 43.5" Deep Provenance / Acquisition: Acquired from highly reputable auction house Heritage Auctions, Dallas, Texas. Curated Home Signature Auction, catalog #8092 Condition: Good original antique / vintage condition. Strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound. Presents well, with nicely aged patina over the whole. Retaining age appropriate wear, including character marks, minor scuffs, scratches, scattered losses, veneer blistering and lifting, and other minor imperfections, all wear consistent with age and use. Delivered cleaned, hand waxed, with lustrous hand rubbed polished French patina finish.
