About

A Santo Domingo mahogany topped and leafed small dining, breakfast, or library table; with a very finely and profusely hairy- carved pedestal and four legs ending in animal paws on casters.
With leaves down its top measures 40 inches x 29 inches. With leaves up and open to 56 inches x 40 inches, it can seat six.
From a Hudson River Valley private collection, it has been credited to both the NYC shop of Deming and Bulkley; as well as the Meeks family. No label has been found. Similarly carved pedestals have been found in Charleston and other Southern locales; where Deming and Bulkley furniture was prized.
