Paracarro table, Giovanni Offredi, Saporiti, Italy, 1970s

About the Item

Resulting from the fruitful and long collaboration between the talented Italian designer Giovanni Offredi and the furniture manufacturer Sergio Saporiti, this Paracarro table made in 1970 is the very example of the harmony between rationality and fantasy, systematically sought after by its creator. Literally understand the "mile marker" table like those that can be seen along country roads where the distances separating you from the next town are listed. The object is thus diverted and the exercise successful! The concrete base accommodates two chromed steel crosspieces to support a thick crystal glass top. A clean and geometric line with a touch of humor for those who will linger to recognize these famous old concrete kilometer markers. A piece of Italian design from the 70s that has become an icon for the Saporiti brand. It will accommodate without flinching 6 to 8 people. Crystal glass top shows some superficial scratches, a small chip is present under the top (see photos).
