Philipp Mainzer Trunk Table in Walnut and Brass for e15 Selected. Made to measure, current production. Simple and refined, the TRUNK table is an inherently unique and sculptural piece. Each piece of the E15 SELECTED collection is branded with an exclusive metal plaque featuring product details and the individual serial number. Crafted from an individually chosen, single European walnut trunk, the 4100 MM (161 3/8 INCH) long TRUNK table features four connecting offset planks revealing the raw edges of the tree trunk, which are only brushed, highlighting the natural quality and the original shape of the table. Floating atop brass finished tubular steel legs with a diameter of 77 MM (3 INCH), the 50 MM (2 INCH) thick table top spans various widths measuring 1690 MM (66 1/2 INCH) at its widest. The table seats 10-12 people comfortably. About Philipp Mainzer Born in Germany, Philipp Mainzer studied product design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, and architecture at the Architectural Association both in London. In 1995, Philipp Mainzer co-founded the modern furniture brand e15. Having established the progressive, enduring philosophy and unique branding of e15, he has received international awards for many of his designs, which are identifying icons for e15 and part of several permanent exhibitions in museums. Parallel to the creation of e15, Philipp Mainzer practiced architecture in New York and continues to do so since his return to Germany in 2001. He is a member of the executive committee of German Design Council and regularly gives lectures on architecture, design and branding. Philipp Mainzer is creative and managing director of e15 and his architecture office PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN.
