About the Item

A beautifully engineered and versatile teak table designed by Ico Parisi for MIM (Mobili Italiani Moderni), Italy, circa 1963. Designed with Parisi’s signature architectural clarity, this table functions both as a compact game table and an extendable dining table, opening up to a full 66 inches in length. The table’s clean lines, softly chamfered edges, and tapered legs reflect Parisi’s modernist sensibility, while the warm teak construction lends it depth and tactility. Originally paired with a set of Renato Venturi rosewood and leather chairs, also produced by MIM and published in Domus No. 402 (May 1963, p.131), this piece formed part of a cohesive suite designed for refined, multifunctional living. MIM was a leading force in midcentury Italian furniture design, known for its collaborations with architects and designers who emphasized modularity, utility, and formal restraint. This model—published in Domus 402 (May 1963), p.D/132, and in Ico Parisi & Architecture by Flaminio Gualdoni (1990), p.215—is a rare and historically important example from Parisi’s output. Be sure to see our separate listing for the original set of four Renato Venturi chairs, which complete the suite and share the same architectural lineage and provenance.
