About the Item

Dining at a Lewes dining table is one of the pleasures in life. We sit down with a glass of wine at a gently curved solid wood table. The wooden frame underneath the surface has 4 organic shaped legs which protrude elegantly through the surface of the table. A dining table crafted from solid wood with powder coated fixtures (sand or rust colour) and featuring an edged profile. The Lewes is finished with a matt lacquer and available in oak or walnut. Suzy is an interior architect and Casper is the co-founder of the design brand Moooi. Designer Sjoerd Vroonland created the first collection in close collaboration with Christopher Mc Guigan and ourselves. We strive to bring intense feelings of warmth, calmness and belonging into your home, your office, your present world. From furniture to lighting, from wall to floor decorations, through our designs we create atmospheres with a contemporary flavour, promoting a more serene and soulful way of living. Our artisan products are made in The Netherlands, Italy and Germany. Artisan cabinetmaking techniques are efficiently produced. We deal directly from the factory to you. Revised products are designed and made in such a sustainable way that they will last for generations. We have a repair service should furniture need repair and we ship as flat as possible to ensure CO2 emissions are as low as possible. We have outlined our collection which includes seaters, tables, storage items, lighting elements and accessories. The collection’s style is modern, elegant and heart-warming. Very elegant 1960s round dining table Made in Denmark, unusually constructed from solid teak wood (not veneered). Quintessential Scandinavian Modern design: minimal, fine materials, highly practical, clean smooth lines, sturdy construction and timeless aesthetic. The table has a diameter of 40 in (100 cm) and a single leg, which achieves an uncluttered appearance under the table and buttressing into four feet that rise a low profile parallel to the floor. This leg form in teak bears a striking resemblance to the iconic La Fonda base by Charles Eames, which was cast in Aluminum. Table height is standard 28.5 in (72 cm). The leg and feet are also carved from beautiful solid, strait grained teak. The table has been professionally refinished in a hard wax oil which faithfully presents the original look and feel whilst providing contemporary levels of robust protection. The table has only extremely minor signs of wear considering the age and use. This timeless table shows every promise of gracing a kitchen or dining room for another 60 years, and then some.
