Robust Carved Elm Dining Table from Spain, Early 1900s

About the Item

Hand-carved in Spain in the early 1900s, this elm dining table has a robust three-inch thick top. The beautiful table is accentuated by a rich, deep brown patina and large, open lyre legs embellished with voluminous scrolled and fretted motifs. A notched and rounded noix adorns the thick arbalete-shaped stretcher that is pinned through the legs by small wedges. The gray marble is naturally weathered, giving the stone a matte finish with a nice speckled black patina. Not only would this piece be a unique garden planter, the antique basin...
