Rocha Vivas sculptural dining table Argentina 1960
About the Item
Rare and truly unique sculptural dining or centre table designed by Roberto Vivas and made in his own atelier in Argentina in 1960. This is an exceptional functional sculpture as Vivas described his artworks. A sculpture that communicates with its surroundings. The base is made of painted concrete in a warm tone. The oval glass top has a bevelled rim which is a wonderful detail. The butterfly-shaped sculpture has the same form on both sides but with different appearances. On one side there’s a circular hole where the other has a more almond shape. Beautiful three-dimensional design with an architectural feel. The most interesting part is that Vivas made rough concrete look so soft due to its sculpting techniques. It’s a one of a kind piece that can serve both as a dining table or as a centre piece in a hallway. In both applications a true conversation piece.
The base has some older repairs but since the surface is pretty rough from itself, they do not stand out. The glass top has normal and age related surface wear, no chips or cracks. Marked Rocha on the base.

Joaquim Tenreiro round dining table Brazil 1960
By Joaquim Tenreiro
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Beautiful and super rare round dining table by Joaquim Tenreiro, Brazil 1960. The precision and attention to detail by Tenreiro are visible in every inch of this creation. Each curve and joint speak of his masterful understanding of the medium, transforming solid wood into an ethereal masterpiece. Made of solid rosewood, the table's thin, round structure gracefully holds a smooth, transparent glass top, allowing to see the beauty of the minimalistic cross base. The legs of this table are slender, accentuating the table's lightness. This incredibly rare dining table by Joaquim Tenreiro goes beyond just being useful. Its design is timeless, giving us a glimpse into the creative mind of a true artist.
Joaquim Tenreiro was born into a family of woodworkers and carpenters in Melo, Gouveia Municipality, Portugal. In the late 1920s, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and started working for the company Laubisch Hirth...

Edoardo Landi Dining Table Studio D, Italy, 1973
By Edoardo Landi
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
Architectural dining table model T30 designed by Edoardo Landi and manufactured by Studio D, Italy 1973. This table is designed by Architect Landi in 1973, and was produced in a very small series by StudioD, together with some chairs, cabinets and tables. This table is made of solid pine wood and is stained in black, it has a glass top in the center which gives the table a nice transparent look. This table is a typical architects design, its clearly visible in the way its constructed and shaped. The table is differenly nice from every angle and is very nice in use as well. The middle part is open and can be used to store items, books, or paper work and it will be only visible from the top and sides. The table can be fully dis assembled for safe shipping. This is one of the most stunning tables I have seen recently and reminds a lot of the later designs by Jose Zanine Caldas as well. Documentation is available but not included in the sale. The table can use up to 8 chairs and the chairs on the picture are not included in this listing.
Edoardo Landi studied architecture at the Scuola Superiore di Disegno Industriale, Venice. 1959–1964 founding member of Gruppo N...
