About the Item
The "Sapporo" table made by the architect Mario Marenco is an undeniable proof that the generosity and nobility of the materials are self-sufficient when the design is right.. Executed with delicacy and generosity, it shows a unique and deep walnut veining.
As if the top levitates above its slightly angled legs, this table is a very fine piece of Italian design from the second half of the last century, showing off its creator's opulent use of walnut. Accommodates 6 people comfortably.
As for its creator, if his career is atypical, he does not come from a school of architect-comedian... Indeed, Mario Marenco is a versatile person. Graduated in architecture in Naples in 1957, he signed some of the most beautiful Italian creations of the last century by collaborating with the greatest, in particular Arflex, Artemide or Poltrona Frau to name but a few.
At the same time, he became part of the subversive Dadaist movement, which led him to become a humorist and actor, making him a touching and colorful character, like his works.
