Scandinavian Modern Style Teak Square Extension Dining Table Made in Singapore
About the Item
Wonderful vintage Scandinavian Modern style teak square extension dining table stamped Made in Singapore. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There is a small scrape on one end of top as well as the edge of the top. We sanded and smoothed as best could be done before going through veneer. Then recolored and applied a fresh coat of Danish oil. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid to Late 20th Century.
Now, THIS is Spectacular Scandinavian Modern Style Dining!!! This is a fabulous Danish Modern style square shaped teak extension dining table with straight cylindrical legs, made in Singapore. It is finely constructed in a minimalistic design indicative of Scandinavian Modern style with its straight clean lines and fabulous teak frame. And the draw leaf feature is wonderful as the leaves are hidden under the tabletop making them very inconspicuous. When you need to extend, simply pull the leaves out from underneath the table, lift, and pop up into place flush with the tabletop. VOILA! You have a larger rectangular table suitable for more seating! But, what’s nice about THIS table is… you don’t HAVE to pull up both sides if you don’t need that much room. You have the option to use just one leaf and maybe put the other side against a wall. Don’t you just LOVE versatility?? The smooth lines of this Scandinavian Modern table will blend beautifully with many interior design styles from Danish Modern to modern country or a mountain rustic house, and from mid-century modern to industrial or maybe a home with a western flair. Lol… It’s super large!! It is comprised of gorgeous oak veneer with solid oak applied to both ends… kind of a modified trestle style dining table with slab legs, and beautiful bullnose edge on said top and legs. The added solid oak ends are separated from the veneered top by a narrow-blackened groove which sets this detail off nicely. It is absolutely stunning!! It is a colossal 96 inches long and seats eight comfortably, but you may fit ten if the chairs are a bit narrower or you straddle the legs. The legs are recessed 6.5 inches, so straddling is not a large obstacle. In addition, although the natural oak is beautiful, we can also see this being ebonized with a little black dye. Incredible!!! It will be fabulous in your dining room or as a lovely conference table at the office! It is modern in style, but it will host oodles of options of dining or office chairs! We have LOTS of chairs...Category
