About the Item

Handsome Scandinavian Modern oval expanding dining table in solid teak and teak veneer with hidden integral leaf in the style of Dyrlund. Excellent vintage condition other than there is some slight bubbling in the veneer of the leaf and on some of the tabletop. Other wear as would be expected with normal age and wear use of a vintage piece; but it is minor and does not distract from table’s beauty. Please see photos, Circa mid-late 20th century. Did you already set the table for four only to find out the in-laws are coming for dinner? No worries! This gorgeous expanding teak dining table can go from serving four to eight in a matter of seconds! In the style of the iconic Dyrlund, this table is comprised of a distinctive Danish style trestle base and amazing teak oval top. There is a bit of “bubbling” on the veneer surface of the tabletop and the leaf, but we don’t think it distracts from its beauty. Just something to be expected from a vintage piece. When not in use, the integral leaf is hidden under the top surface. When you need it, simply pull the table on both ends and fold it out…very convenient. The edges of the top have a softened bullnose profile which shows off the interesting joinery. The smooth clean lines of this Scandinavian mid-century table will beautifully blend with many interior design styles from Danish Modern to modern country or a mountain rustic house, and from mid-century modern to industrial or a home with a western flair.
