William IV mahogany extending dining table

About the Item

William IV mahogany extending dining table This William IV mahogany extending dining table was made circa 1830, the cabinetmaker selected fine mahogany that gave a wonderful colour and grain. Each top sheet of mahogany is one piece of timber!! Not multi-boards as you see in tables that are more modern. The table pulls out on runners so that the extra leaf can be put into place before you secure with a table fork that slides into place. It has a leg to each corner with the desirable upturned tulip design and stands on a brass cup castor. This William IV mahogany extending dining table can seat 10 when extended. The table can be used without the leaf set in place, when closed it seats 6 comfortably.
