About the Item

Fine quality drop leaf table from the end of the Chippendale period circa 1780. Solid mahogany top which forms a near circle when opened out. Swing out legs each side provide support the leaves for it to perform as an occasional dining table. Beautifully carved cabriole legs with a deep acanthus leaf on the knee, finishing with a ball and claw foot. Rich colour and patina, recently re-polished in our workshop. Expected minor surface marks in line with age and use, ready for everyday use in the home. Depth leaves down: 18 1/2"
