This is a 19th century, French antique sofa table in kingwood. A drop flap occasional side table dating to circa 1880.
First class craftsmanship and superior materials
Highly desirable grain detail in the mellow tones of the kingwood
The quarter veneered top exquisitely executed
Shaped drop flaps rise extending the pattern within a crossbanded border
Single, mahogany lined, frieze drawer features a serpentine apron
Finished with butterfly veneer and lower edge moulding
Working, double throw, lock and key
Finished back – ideal for centre room placement
Raised on tall, slender cabriole legs with a flash of sapwood testament to the artisans skill
Scrolled toes over elongated feet
