About the Item

Original Dealer's Information on Piece: Antique French Gateleg Table, Oak C. 1870's, LOUIS XIII, CITY OF BEZIERS FRANCE Measurements: 47.5"d, 52" Round when open, 30"h, 19.25"D top when both leaves are down This antique is a traditional gateleg drop-leaf table, likely crafted in the 18th or early 19th century. Per the original dealer, this piece is from the City of Beziers and was crafted in the 1870's - this has not been confirmed by us. The table has two drop leaves on either side of a central rectangular section. When extended, it becomes a 52" round/oval size. It stands on a turned leg base with stretchers connecting the legs, adding both stability and decorative value. The inner legs swing out (like a gate) to support the leaves when raised. The table appears to be constructed of solid oak, showcasing a rich, dark patina and visible grain—indicative of its age and quality. There’s a small drawer with a brass drop pull, hinting at English origin and utility as a multi-purpose table. If you would like more images or a video, please message us.
