Antique French Renaissance Octagonal Drop Leaf Gate Leg Table
About the Item
Antique French Renaissance Octagonal Drop Leaf Gate Leg Table is a great choice for the efficient floor plan! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it features a drop leaf gate leg design that compresses down to a tabletop only 34.5W x 11D, perfect for stashing against the wall, behind a chair or sofa, or generally keeping out of the way. However, with the two leaves open, it's a good-sized table ideal for any seating group, a quick game of cards, or an intimate breakfast for two. The leaves when extended are supported by swing-out gate legs, providing a total of six legs when open for exceptionally sturdy support. The top edge is nicely carved and surrounds the octagonal table form. The apron features whimsical carved lion's heads on each end flanked by rosettes atop the finely turned legs, all six of which are tipped with urn-shaped feet. Each stretcher is meticulously carved with foliate motif to complement the rosette accents above the feet.
