Antique Drop Leaf Spool Leg End Table
About the Item
Antique drop leaf spool leg end table is a marvel of design and craftsmanship on a wonderfully diminutive scale! Four spooled legs are splayed for extra stability and connected below with stretchers and tipped with turned teardrop-shaped feet, and support the framework of the apron above, upon which is mounted an intriguing top~ The square top is fitted with four demilune shaped leaves, each of which is carved around the top edge in bas relief with a foliate design. When the leaves are down, the table is only 16" square, but when all leaves are open, it provides plenty of surface to serve as a side table for any application. What's more, the leaves are fully independent of each other, so one can make a number of configurations according to the room layout or requirements, and even make adjustments for occasional use while entertaining. Concealed supports fold out from the apron to hold the leaves, then tuck back in when closed for a tidy little lamp table.
