Introducing a true Danish Modern treasure: a rare drop-leaf table designed by the well respected Poul H. Poulsen. Featuring a table top constructed from ceramic tiles hand-painted with intriguing geometric shapes as well as a frame of solid Burmese teak with exceptional woodgrains this table is the very epitome of "functional art". Featuring a clever drop-leaf design with easily removable extension leaves this table is as functional as it is visually captivating and can comfortably seat up to twelve guests when fully extended. Poul Poulsen was a Danish designer, painter and ceramics artisan and worked extensively with Gangsø Møbler in Faarvang, Denmark designing ceramic tiles. Previously, he was the proprietor of Faaborg Pottery (1976–1978) at the city square in Faaborg, Denmark, where he designed pottery. It later evolved into the design of ceramics, tiles, carvings, pictures, oil paintings, canvas prints, drawings and photo posters. Add this extraordinary piece to your collection today and elevate your home's aesthetic to new heights. ---Dimensions--- Extended Width: 94.75 in / 240.67 cm Width: 63 in / 160.02 cm Depth: 35.5 in / 90.17 cm Height: 28.5 in / 72.39 cm This artfully crafted dining table is in 100% original, vintage condition and though it does show some signs of vintage wear, it still has so much to offer. The mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak composition does show one 1" long gouge (as seen in the detail photos provided), as well as subtle veneer bubbling (also shown in the photos provided) and some minor surface scratches. With that said, the teak is in overall very good shape and the woodgrains are absolutely stunning in natural light. The ceramic tile inlays are also in overall excellent shape save for a small hairline crack in one of the tiles (which can be seen in the natural light video provided). The tile is not loose or broken. Both leaves easily extend outward in mere seconds and can be removed when not in use with ease. This extraordinary table is highly functional, structurally sound and ready for decades more of use. Please view all photos and video for details on this table's current condition.
