About the Item

This striking Mid-Century teak drop leaf table, designed by Trion in the 1970s, embodies the bold geometric flair of the Ox Art style with a fully restored finish. Crafted from rich teak, the table features a warm, honey-toned surface that highlights its natural grain, enhanced by a unique drop leaf design for versatile seating or space-saving elegance. The tabletop showcases original tiles arranged in a captivating sequence of circles and half circles, adding a tactile and visual depth that reflects the era’s artistic innovation. Perfectly restored, this piece offers a seamless blend of functionality and sculptural beauty, making it an ideal centerpiece for a dining area, studio, or collector’s curated space. Trion a design collective in the 1970s, is associated with the creation of distinctive furniture pieces reflecting the Ox Art movement. Trion’s work is characterized by bold geometric patterns and the integration of materials like teak and tiles, aligning with mid-century modern trends. Their designs, often attributed to European artisans, gained appreciation for their artistic craftsmanship and are sought after by collectors for their unique aesthetic. The Ox Art style, emerging in the mid-20th century, is an artistic movement that blends organic forms with structured geometry, often seen in furniture and decor from the 1960s and 1970s. Rooted in European design circles, particularly Italy and Scandinavia, it emphasizes bold textures and innovative material use, such as teak and tiled surfaces. This style, celebrated for its sculptural quality, has become a favorite among collectors and interior designers for its enduring modernist appeal. ---Dimensions--- Extended Width: 103.75 in / 263.53 cm Width: 64 in / 162.56 cm Depth: 36 in / 91.44 cm Height: 27.5 in / 69.85 cm This artfully crafted dining table is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection!
