Pair of Fine Late Regency Mahogany and Tulipwood Drop-Leaf Tables
About the Item
Possibly Scottish, circa 1820. Banded and burled tables with double pedestal supports with carved leafy center panels. Raised on banded legs. With serpentine stretchers. Lacking the original casters. The two can be put together as one table.
Dimensions:Length 40", depth 20 1/2", each leaf 9 1/2", height 27 3/4"
Condition: Please see detail photos. Age related scratches, spots and slight dings to both top surfaces, slightly loose joinery and there is an old stable age crack (no loss) to one end of one of the tables, all mentioned for accuracy as the pair display very well.

A very fine and complex well-crafted drop leaf table with rectangular top inlaid overall in fine scrolled marquetry details. The top panel with scrolling vines emanating from two vessels, framed by a scrolling vine wide band. Each rounded leaf with coordinating center panels and bands. The two frieze drawers with foliate scrolls framing the brass key holes (one lock is missing). Raised on a octagonal faceted baluster support ending in eight square scrolled legs with flat feet, all with coordinating foliate scrolled decoration.
