About the Item
A Superb Quality French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu Mounted Mahogany and Kingwood Vitrine Table, Attributed to Henry Dasson (French, 1825-1896), with a beveled glass lift top and lined interior, fluted tapered legs and a shaped stretcher Paris, circa 1890.
Height: 30 3/4 inches (78.1 cm).
Width: 30 1/4 inches (76.9 cm).
Depth: 19 1/4 inches (48.9 cm).
Dasson, Henry: 106 rue Vieille-du-Temple. (1825-1896) Important furniture maker using the very finest ormolu mounts with high quality mercurial gilding. Specialized in copies of 18th century models, manly in the Louis XVI style. Exhibited Louis XV, XVI pieces of his own modified 18th century design at the 1878 Paris Exhibition. Dasson closed down his business in 1894.

- Condition:Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Overall condition is very good with minor wear and rubbing consistent with age and use. Glass has some scratches. The table was recently restored. All gilt is original. Very fine chasing. Minor age glass scratches.
