  • Unique Armand Jonckers Coffee Table in Green Resin and Copper

Armand Jonckers, coffee table, resin, copper, wood, metal, Belgium, 1984 Gorgeous, custom-made coffee table by Belgian designer Armand Jockers. Every detail of this sculptural table catches the eye. The pure combination of refined materials like the engraved copper tabletop in a delicate green resin frame and the colorful architectural feet in wood and metal, truly contribute to the extremely exquisite design. On the edge of being an ornament itself, the table has architectural qualities. The flow of blue to green color within the resin frame in contrast to the top in copper forms a striking expression. Jonckers also highlighted the table by the rare shape of it. Combining a square with four semicircular shapes results in a vivid top that shows almost oriental influences. Most striking is also the design of the four base elements. Here, a square in brass holds two blue beams and a round leg in wood. This red wooden element features a vivid relief of geometric ornaments that differ in size. A line of sharp nails finishes this element. The table is signed and dated on top with the words ‘Armand Jonckers à Rene et Eliane 1984’. Sculptor, engraver, antiquarian, mineralogist, decorator - Armand Jonckers (1939) is a creative multi-talent. Jonckers graduated in Fine Arts in Lausanne in 1957 and opened his own workshop shortly afterwards. Upon graduating, he embarked on a number of creative endeavors: dealing in antiques...
