About the Item

A Charming And Extremely Good Quality Mid 18th Century Georgian Mahogany Wine Table, Or Lamp Table, Having Superbly Figured Oval Shaped Tilting Top, Over Baluster Turned Central Stem With Elegant Tripod Legs, Retaining Good Colour And Patina Throughout.  A relatively simple, butvery attractive little lamp table which is a great example of mid 18th century craftsmanship and design. It stands both elegantly and proudly and for something so relatively small and delicate it has a great presence. The elegant oval top is also a feature of note, because whilst one sees many antique occasional tables with round, square or rectangular tops it is much, much rare to come across one with a lovely oval shaped top like this. It is constructed from an excellent high grade of mahogany timber and the top itself boasts great figuring, alongside a good colour and patina. All of this in combination with the elegant central column and tripod legs create something which we feel would add a touch of class and elegance to just about any room of the house. The perfect size for a whole host of spaces around the home, it is both beautiful and practical. It would work just as well alongside a sofa or library chair in the living room to place a drinks glass on top of, as it would in the drawing room with a lamp perched atop, or even in the bedroom as a bedside table. As with all our items this table has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture restorers, before being offered for sale, meaning it has received any work required to ensure it is ready to place straight into the home, including a natural wax polish. Circa 1760. Height 27.5in. Width 20in. Depth 16in.
