Handcrafted English Oak End Table Night Stand
About the Item
English quarter-sawn oak handcrafted end tables or nightstands by Sum furniture. Constructed from finest English quarter-sawn oak - including all the internal dovetail jointed drawer and carcass. The upper box is detailed with exposed hand-cut dovetail jointing. A light curve design is cut into the legs and follows along the facia. Designed and completely handmade by our skilled craftsmen in England. Hand finished in durable natural oil. A modernist design utilising traditional furniture hand-craftsmanship and fine timbers.
For custom orders - we can quote on your submitted dimensions/alterations. Also available in American black walnut.
We design bold and distinctive pieces of furniture – our main objective is combining the design alongside the natural beauty and properties of the raw materials.
These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use.
Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but gives huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities.
By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces.
These are all completely handmade, in very small numbers, by our skilled craftspeople in England.
